"Unchained Melody" is a 1955 song with music by Alex North and lyrics by Hy Zaret. Jimmy Young's version is one of the seven that was recorded and charted in the US and UK that year. Young release it as a single on April 1955 and topped the UK Singles Chart on June 24, 1955, stayed at number 1 for 3 weeks.
