As it lacked a retail release in the United States, "Butterfly" was ineligible to appear on the Billboard Hot 100. In the UK it peaked at number 22 on the Official Chart on December 13, 1997, and at number 5 on the Vitrola Stereo's TOP15 on February 21 1998.
