"Wild Thing" is a song written by American songwriter Chip Taylor and originally recorded by the American rock band the Wild Ones in 1965. English rock band the Troggs recorded a cover version that was released as a single on April 22, 1966. The song reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 on July 30, 1966, holding the top for 2 weeks. In the UK it peaked at number two on the Official Chart in June 1, 1966.
