"Black and White" is a song written in 1954 by David I. Arkin (lyrics) and Earl Robinson (music). It was first recorded by Pete Seeger in 1956. Three Dog Night recorded ir in 1972. Their version was released on August 1972 as the lead single from their eighth studio album "Seven Separate Fools". The single reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for one week in September 16, 1972.
