Laura Pausini Named 2023 Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year - Vitrola Stereo
The Latin Recording Academy has announced that renowned Latin Grammy and Grammy winner, Laura Pausini, will receive the prestigious title of the 2023 Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year.
The annual tribute gala, which honors exceptional musicians in the Latin music industry while supporting the charitable endeavors of the Latin Grammy Cultural Foundation®, will recognize Pausini for her illustrious career as a versatile performer and her unwavering dedication to social justice causes. Notably, Pausini has been an advocate for women's rights, LGBTQ+ equality, and the fight against world hunger.

Manuel Abud, the CEO of The Latin Recording Academy, praised Pausini, stating, "Laura Pausini is one of the most talented and beloved artists of her generation, whose commitment to advocacy and equal rights is exemplary. Throughout her more than three-decade career, her extraordinary voice has consistently transcended language and genre barriers, forging a special connection with audiences worldwide."

Expressing her gratitude, Pausini remarked, "I am extremely honored to receive this incredible recognition from The Latin Recording Academy. To be named Person of the Year at this moment, when I am celebrating 30 years of my career, is something that I still cannot describe. I can only feel a deep gratitude for The Latin Academy and its members, for my colleagues who have always welcomed me with open arms, but, above all, for my beloved audiences who have made a dream born in my hometown in Italy a beautiful reality and who have taken me to places I never dreamed I would reach with my music."

Pausini, a global sensation in Latin music, has sold over 70 million albums worldwide and has achieved success in six different languages. Having released her first Spanish-language album in 1994, she has left an indelible mark on the industry. In addition to her musical achievements, Pausini has actively supported philanthropic and humanitarian causes. Her efforts have focused on promoting gender equality, fighting poverty and hunger, combatting climate change, and raising awareness about violence against women. Pausini has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Starlite Humanitarian Award, the Global Gift Humanitarian Award, and the Person of the Year accolade at the Diversity Media Awards for her advocacy within the LGBTQ+ community.

The gala honoring Pausini will feature a star-studded tribute concert, with distinguished artists and friends performing renditions of her iconic repertoire. Further details about the highly anticipated event, set to take place during the 2023 Latin Grammy Week in Sevilla, Spain, will be disclosed at a later date.
